In 2012, StudioGC completed a building assessment and feasibility study to develop a master plan for Saint Bede Academy. The building assessment yielded potential for repurposing the existing facility, portions of which date to 1890, and possible new additions for modern facilities. This master plan, titled the Legacy Project, proposes multiple project phases, with the full-phase construction scheduled for completion in September 2021, the 130th anniversary of the opening of Saint Bede Academy.
As part of the Legacy Project, a 17,000 square foot Perino Science Center addition was constructed. It includes 3 new science labs, a collaborative learning lab, a staff workroom, conference room and a common space for student and staff gathering. The new Science and Student Commons addition was completed on schedule for the 2018-2019 school year.
