Riverside Public Library selected Studio GC to renovate the interior of the historic 1931 Riverside Public Library, the centerpiece of the Riverside Historic District. Riverside itself has historic landmark status and the library is designated as Riverside’s historic landmark #1. The design respects the historic structure and provides an updated venue for contemporary library services. Every design decision considered the historic status of the library and the explored ways to make new and old coexist in harmony. The renovated library fully reopened in 2021 and is looking forward to its next 90 years of service.
